The preperations for ven. Kyabje Tenga Rinpoches birthday had been exceeding. Especially delightful was the sharing of the work between the monks and ex monks of Benchen monastery. Everywhere helping hands were working together. H.E. Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche held a Tara puja for several days running.

The birthday morning started foggy and wet. After a short puja thousands of people came to congratulate Rinpoche.
In the afternoon a very nice and extensive program took place, including traditional Tibetan dances and folklore groups. Ani Choeying, the singing nun preformed a very touching Karmapa Chenno chanting. Popular Nepalese singers like Cine Gurung, Hermat Sharma and Avinash Ghishing offered a serenade to Rinpoche. The ambiance was incredible, the spirits high. People were dancing and singing along, peaceful and relaxed. Nor the rain could spoil it.

Towards early afternoon a talent contest started. There was Karaoke, theater and lots of funny clownery along with music. Some of the monks and ex monks preformed songs from John Lennon or Bob Marley. The show was extraordinary and the audience rewarded all gigs with lots of laughter, rejoicing and salvos.
Here you find a glimpse backstage. The gompa had turned into an artist dressing room.
