Spring Course 2014 in Kathmandu - Update

A tentative program for the Chod empowerments ("gcod dbang brgya rtsa") in March 2014

Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche has just kindly informed us of the tentative program for the empowerments and oral transmissions in March 2014.

The Chod empowerments will begin on 19 March 2014 and will be concluded on 28 March. A short break from the daily empowerments will take place on the morning of 26 March, on which Nyenpa Rinpoche will consecrate the smaller of the two relic stupas of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche, which is enshrined here in the monastery. The Chod empowerments will continue in the afternoon of that same day. On the morning of 29 March the entire event will then be concluded with a long-life empowerment for all participants and the general public.

As Nyenpa Rinpoche did before, during the Kagyu Ngagdzo transmissions, he will give the oral transmission and instructions of the "khrid yig ye shes bla ma" by Kunkhyen Jigme Lingpa in the breaks between the individual empowerments. There are two ways of imparting this teaching, the so-called "slob bshad" and the "tshogs bshad". Rinpoche has chosen to give the "tshogs bshad" to all participants.

30 March will be a day off. On 31 March, Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche will then go to Pharping where he will consecrate the larger of the two relic stupas of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche, which has been constructed between the two retreat centres.

Looking forward to seeing you all,
