According to His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa'a wish that monks would obtain training in disaster disaster preparedness. Dr. Behrouz Mogaddasi from Iran began to give instructions in Nepal beginning in June 2016.
A total of 140 monks from 15 different monasteries took the training which initially was held in Boudhanath. After the completion of the training these monks gave instructions at their own individual monasteries together with Dr. Mogaddasi.

In the beginning of October the disaster preparedness training by the Benchen Monastery was held in Parphing.

This year Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche is residing in Parphing. While Rinpoche is abiding in retreat he is also spending a lot of time giving teachings to the monks at the shedra of the Benchen Institute on the topic of the Mind-Only school's view and system. We are extremely fortunate and happy.

This announcement contains information on a two weeks Vajra Guru recitation based on the Sadhana of Kunchok Chidu that will be hold at Benchen Monastery, Kathmandu from 13 to 28th December 2016. During the program His Eminence Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche will give different empowerments as well as teachings on "The word of my perfect Teacher" by Patrol Rinpoche.

To the kind attention of all the Tsurphu Labrang officials who take supporting the Buddha’s teaching as their personal responsibility.
The recent letter of the Supreme Gyalwang, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, indicates that – in order to pacify all obstacles for the holders of the Buddha’s teaching in general and for those of the Karma Kamtsang in particular –  he sees the practice and accomplishing of the Prajnaparamitahridayasutra (»The Hear of Wisdom Sutra«) and the Singhamukha both as a key necessity for all Kamtsang Monasteries.

Right upon knowing this announcement Kyabje Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche declared to the common assembly of Benchen monastery the immediate need to accomplish these two requested procedures and without any delay, granted the reading transmission for both.  And thus, on the 8th August, 2016, starting within the Benchen Shedra, they all devoted themselves to the accomplishing with all enthusiasm to the best of their capacity.

The Benchen Community extends its sincere heart felt greetings and joyful best wishes to His Holiness Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, on the occasion of his 31st birthday. On the morning of 26th June 2016, the 31st birthday celebration, at Benchen Nang Tan Thoesam Ling Shedra in Pharping, was presided over by H.E. Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche. Rinpoche commenced the proceedings by delivering a very profound address about the activities of H.H. Karmapa. This was followed by the 16 Arhats puja, during which H.E. Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche made the offering of Body, Speech, Mind to the throne of H.H. Karmapa. Rinpoche also offered katak which was followed by katak offerings by the Khenpos, lamas, monks and lay practitioners. Throughout the katak offering the monks continually chanted the Long Life Prayer of His Holiness Karmapa. The day’s celebration was concluded later in the evening with a cake cutting ceremony.At Benchen Phuntsok Dargye Ling Monastery, Swayambhu, Dorje Lopon lead the Lamas and monks in the morning’s celebration puja and katak offering ceremony for H.H. Karmapa’s 31st birthday. At 7pm there was a cake cutting ceremony with the monks singing the “Happy Birthday to You” song to H.H. Karmapa, which was a very joyful and happy culmination to the day’s celebration.

While performing the Tseringma Drubchen in Bodhgaya, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa had some very clear visions concerning the rebirth of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche. His Holiness wrote down the indications that appeared to him in a recognition letter, which he handed over to Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche on February 24, 10.45 am in Bodhgaya.

As witness the entire Benchen administration was present.

According to the recognition letter, His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa, conjointly with Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche, appointed an exploration team to search for the reincarnation of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche.

Chagdzö Tempa Yarphel, junior Chagdzö Tashi Özer, Khenpo Özung and Dorje Lopön Tsültrim Rapten, all from Benchen Monastery, were appointed for this assignment.

On March 16th was Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche's parinirvana anniversary. Our Benchen Monastery, Swoyambhu, and the shedra in Parphing had a nice Tara puja, offered lots of butter lamps, and recited prayers. I am quite sure all of you did the same thing.

The Benchen Monastery administrators are in Thrangu Rinpoche's monastery in Saranath, Benares (Varanasi), right now. This is due to a large three-day Tseringma drubchen that His Holiness Karmapa is holding for the benefit of Kyabje Tenga Rinopoche's reincarnation so that everything will be going well. Monks and nuns of Thrangu Rinpoche's monastery and the Benchen monastery will join His Holiness. Every morning beginning on March 21st will be a Karma Pakshi tsok offering. The drubchen will be held in the afternoons. The last day will be March 23rd. His Holines asked the great Umdze Bai Karma from Rumtek Monastery, Sikkim, to lead the Tseringma Druchen together with three Benchen Umdzes.

Isn't it that we would all like to express to His Holiness our immense gratitude from the bottom of our hearts? All the sangha members of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche, students and friends, we feel it is a great honor that His Holiness is arranging such a great puja in Benares
