Another 3-year-retreat concluded

Not to forget over all the Kagyu Ngagdzo, on Monday the 25th of February 2013 our fourth group of 3-year-retreatants concluded their retreat in our retreat centre in Pharping. This day was the full moon or 15th day of the first Tibetan month, a very auspicious day that marks the display of miracles by the teacher of our age, the Buddha Shakyamuni, and thus a very auspicious occasion for the conclusion of such a retreat. H.E. Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche personally oversaw the ceremonies and gave much precious advice to the new young lamas.

However, his main point was to impress upon them the importance of continuing to practice what they have learned for the last three and a half years. If one does not do so, a 3-year-retreat doesn't serve much purpose. The lamas were then presented with certificates, as were some local supporters. The occasion was a very joyful one, with families of the retreatants and other well-wishers presenting them with kathags and welcoming them back. A nice lunch was served to all and the day was enjoyed in perfeclty good weather. The next group of retreatants will enter retreat fairly soon.
