News from Benchen Monastery (May 26, 2012)

Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche's old attendants (shabji) Jinpa, Sherab, Geleg, Tashi Öser and I had a meeting and decided to open the cremation stupa (phur khang) that is closed at the moment on Thursday the 31st of May at 6:00 am. There will be a ritual ceremony. The relics of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche that are there will be placed in a copper vase and the ashes will be put in brocade sacks. Then in a traditional procession these relics will be led in circumambulation around the Gompa and placed in Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche's personal room where they will remain for some time.

We have started today to build the stupa that will contain the precious relics of Tenga Rinpoche. It will be five feet eight inch tall and be made out of silver and gold-plated carved copper by the best artist in Kathmandu that we have chosen. This stupa will be placed in the Tara Shrine-Room.

On the 22nd in the morning we had a meeting with the board members of the Singaporean Benchen Karma Choeling Center. We discussed and shared information about the center's activity about how to continuously run it according to Rinpoche's wishes. We gave the center a set of Rinpoche's worn robes for commemoration, as object for offerings, to receive merit and good energy.
On the 24th we had a meeting at dinner with the Malaysian Benchen Karma Kamtshang Ling center. We have given them a similar set of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche's robes to continuously fulfill Rinpoche's aspiration for the center.
On the same evening we have given another set of Rinpoche's robes to the Benchen Karma Kamtshang Center of Grabnik Poland. Lama Rinchen continues to warmly welcome us attendants and maintains the close relationship with the shabjis.
After the dinner we shabjis had a discussion with the Dharma Haus Benchen Tashi Ling in Cologne lead by Lioba, Martin, Thea and Tashi Boldt on how to continuously fulfill Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche's wishes and we shared information and knowledge. After that we have given their center a whole set of Rinpoche's worn robes in order to display on the shrine. Furthermore, we shabjis want to give Rinpoche's used robes to the Benchen Phuntsok Ling Center Allmuthen and Benchen Karma Geleg Dargye Ling Center Odense in the summer so that they may be placed in the shrines.

After the collection of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche's relics we shabjis are going to see H.H. Karmapa. On the 1st-2nd we Jinpa, Sherab, Geleg, Tashi Özer, Karma and myself are leaving to Gyuto Monastery in order to visit H.H. Karmapa and requesting when and where Tenga Rinpoche's reincarnation will be reborn, moreover, we requested his holiness to direct his mind towards Rinpoche's rebirth. A few days later we will be back to Kathmandu.
That's all for now.

Namaste, Tempa
