Offering of Precious Relics in Kham

On July 12, 2013 the auspicious day commemorating the first turning of the wheel, I arrived at the Pathang airport in Yushu with Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche's relic bones, relic pills and a very nice relic stupa 3 feet tall which was nicely crafted under the supervision of Chagzö Tashi Özer.

These three items were handed over to Benchen Chime Rinpoche at the airport. From there to the Benchen monastery there was a wonderful reception by the monastery and the people of the area.
More than 50 cars lined up and drove to the Benchen Monastery. Upon arriving at monastery there was a traditional reception by the monks with banners and gyanglings, bringing the relics in the monastery on Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche's throne. After that all the monks and lay people offered katags and received blessings. The monks recited the Lama Kyangbö (Calling the Lama from Afar) and recited the prayer for the swift rebirth of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche. Everybody was very pleased.

Namaste, Tempa
