At the moment, both of our Rinpoches are very well. Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche is at Situ Rinpoche's monastery, Sherab Ling, in Bir, India, giving oral transmissions and teachings. Tenga Rinpoche will soon pay a short visit to Malaysia to consecrate and inaugurate Benchen Karma Kamsang Ling in Johor Baru.

The dates of the spring course are 25 February - 2 March 2008, the morning sessions 10:00 to 11:00 and the afternoon sessions 2:00 to 3:30.  The subject for this course will be teachings from among "The Hundred Short Dharma Instructions" by Jowo Je Palden Atisha.

Registration for the course itself is not required, but booking for accommodation at the monastery's guest house is necessary. To provide an environment for social interaction for the participants, refreshments will be served in the courtyard following the afternoon sessions. During one of these days, Rinpoche will take the participants on a pilgrimage to Pharping.

This year will be the 25th anniversary of the Bodhgaya Kagyü Mönlam, and again this year Tenga Rinpoche will participate. During the summer course teachings and at other times during his European visit the summer, Rinpoche talked about the importance of participating in the Mönlam. Rinpoche's students asked him to guide them to the holy places afterwards, and he has agreed to do so before he returns to Benchen Monastery in Kathmandu. The schedule for the 2007 Kagyü Mönlam and pilgrimage is as follows:

17-25 December            Kagyü Mönlam

28 December           Pilgrimage to the cave of Mahasiddha Shawaripa, where he had a vision of the 6-armed Mahakala, and to the Naranjana River where Buddha Shakyamuni meditated for 6 years before he attained enlightenment.

29 December           Vulture Peak, where Buddha turned the 2nd wheel of Dharma, teaching the Prajna Paramita, and to Nalanda, the famous Buddhist center of learning.

Those who wish to participate should make their accommodation bookings according to the instructions in this website. Those wishing to participate in the pilgrimage are advised to contact benchen.monastery@gmail.com with your email address and the full names of all members of your party.
