10.02.2006

Dear sponsors,

on behalf of both Ven. Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche and Ven. Tenga Rinpoche we sincerely want to thank you for the support of Benchen Phuntsok Dargyeling in Kathmandu.

With these pictures and details we would like to give you a little insight of the monastic life again. In November 2005 the Benchen Primary School arranged an exhibition with pictures of the students. A few examples you can see here. The teachers were very happy with this project. It helped to stabilise the self-confidence of the students, showed the artistic abilities and in the end a collection of donations from visitors was enough to cover the expenses to go for a picnic.

Also in November 21 Lamas left the Benchen Clear Light Retreat Center in Pharping. It was the second traditional Three-Years-Retreat, which was concluded in Clear Light. The alumni are staying at the monastery for the time being in order to support the Rinpoches.

Here you find the impressive daily schedule of the retreat:

3.00–   6.00     Meditation and after session Water Torma Offering

6.30–   7.30     breakfast and then 16 Arhats and purification of vows, incense offering

   8.30– 11.00     Meditation

11.30                 lunch

13.00– 15.00     Meditation and after session tea break

1 6.00– 17.00     Mahakala-Puja followed by Vajrakila Practice

18.00                dinner

18:30-20:00       Meditation und as conclusion Chöd Practice

Now, we must give an annoying notification. Unfortunately a suitcase with letters and presents for your godchildren got lost on the journey from Europe to Nepal last autumn.

Also some sponsors let us know that there was no answer to their letters whereon these people found out that the letters didn’t arrive in the first place. We of course are aware of this problem that again and again mail gets missing. Therefore, until April please send your letters to our address in Cologne, we then forward the mail. In the long run we try to find a safer way of communication. To keep you informed please send also your e-mail addresses. Never the less it would be nice if you could try to keep in touch with your monks of the Benchen monastery. Thank you very much!

 Many Tashi Deleks

Yours Lotusdirekthilfe-Team
