9. -11.03.2009 - Kagyu Monlam in Benchen Monastery in Kathmandu
The Karma Kagyu Monasteries situated in Kathmandu organize a Kagyu Monlam by turns every year. The Monlam is held for the benefit of all sentient beings, to pray for the world peace and the long life of all precious Dharma Teachers. It has taken place in the capital of Nepal for about 12 years. In March 2009 the Benchen Monastery was responsible to organize this event. It is a special time of the year due it is the time when Milarepa and Gampopa passed away into Nirvana and it is the time of the Chotrul Duechen, the day of offerings. More than 1600 monks from other monasteries joined the Monlam in the Benchen Gompa. Please view the Monlam gallery Rabsal passed away

In May 2009 at Benchen Monastery monks and lay people collected one billion Tara mantras for the 17th Karmapa 25th year. Due to Tibetan belief the age of 25 is an obstacle year. Both Rinpoches wish to pacify all obstacles and that all of Karmapas wishes will come true and turn out to be successful

End of May 2009 - Tenga Rinpoche visited HH 17th Karmapa
Following a wish of Karmapa Rinpoche went to Gyuto monastery end of May for nine days. Tenga Rinpoche offered instructions on tantric rituals to His Holiness. The lessons commenced at 6 o’clock every morning.
6. June 2009 - Training for butter lamp offering chants for the young monks.
7. June 2009 - Opening of Karma Khenze Rinpoches new monastery
Rinpoche was invited to the opening of Karma Khenze Rinpoches new monastery in Pharping. On this occasion many Rinpoches and Nepali officials came to Parphing. Please view the picture gallery
10.June.2009 - Opening of Benchen “Tea House” for the monks
Next to the gate of the Benchen Gompa a new building was erected. It includes a cantina and a shop for our monks. The opening ceremony was held by HE Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche and Tenga Rinpoche.
