Dharamsala, where we went to our assigned hotels. The next day we explored the hill town, and early the next morning Rinpoche led the group to Gyuto, the present residence of His Holiness Karmapa in India. Only when we all gathered together there did we realize what a huge group we were - all together more than 200. His Holiness granted an audience to all of Rinpoche’s students and gave a wonderful teaching and a Chenrezig initiation, after which the students, who were called by country, made offerings and received blessings from His Holiness. Tsurphu Labrang, the office of His. Holiness, offered a delicious lunch for all the participants.
The next day we were welcomed at Sherab Ling with a very nice lunch prepared by the monastery, after which we were given the great opportunity to sponsor a hat ceremony. His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche gave a wonderful teaching and then performed the Red Crown ceremony. Afterwards, the students were again called by country to present kadaks and offerings to His Excellency and to receive his blessings. We also received precious pills that were blessed by pujas and mantras.

On the way to Tso Pema, we were all so surprised and happy that a special stop was planned so that we could pay our respects to the incarnation of Urgyen Tulku. We arrived in Tso Pema the following day. For most of us this was our first visit to this holy place where Guru Rinpoche was born, and we were in awe of the spectacular view of the sacred lake. The next day we visited the cave of Guru Rinpoche and Mandarava, where we made prayers and offerings. In the evening Rinpoche led all of the participants in

the Guru Rinpoche puja, The Shower of Blessings. We spent three days there, and the Tso Pema Drigung Kadyu Monastery looked after everyone very well, preparing wonderful meals during our entire stay. Most of the students then returned to Delhi while Rinpoche remained for a week to do a retreat, after which time he went to Dharamsala to continue assisting with H.H. Karmapa’s education. We are so grateful to Rinpoche for all the blessings we received because of his kindness.
